OK, I have made a little headway with the Zeiss Junior. It looks like dad turned it into a stereoscopic microscope. I'm still not sure which objectives belonged to it originally but I've found a wooden case for the microscope, the light source and another part that I am not sure what it's called.
Inside the case on the upper right are two other eyepieces branded Zeiss and empty objective cases. I feel like Alice and things are getting curiouser and curiouser.
That black piece is a monocular head and can be swapped with the binocular head. The Zeiss Junior is not a stereoscope but a regular compound microscope. The only objective on the Junior which doesn't belong is the one with the infinity on it. Have you looked in the vials? Maybe there are other objectives.
ReplyDeleteNo objectives in the vials in the case. That's the first place I looked. Honestly dad was a pack-rat and I've found objective lens vials EVERYWHERE. I still don't know if I've found them all and I certainly haven't cataloged them yet. I will try and dig through what I've found so far at some point this week. Between this, the etsy store and the ebay account and trying to help mom with the computer stuff to get ready for taxes (dad was paperless and she's got no idea how to print off receipts ans things and he always did the taxes...) I'm kind of just trying to keep my head above water with the microscope stuff. I do appreciate the nudge in the right direction. This Zeiss might end up on ebay nefore too long. Thank you Charlie.
